Spanish NewsBites is a website, designed for learners of Spanish, which brings you brief snippets of originally written Spanish-language news with mouseover glossaries, audio, links, contextual notes and a takeway PDF file. Together, they will help you learn about what's happening in the Spanish-speaking world TODAY - at the same time as you learn the language.
We aim to focus on news items which (a) are perhaps not easily available in English, which (b) tell you something about how things really are right now in Spain and Latin America and (c) we feel will be of interest in the future, too. (To find news on a particular theme, or adapted to a particular Spanish level, check out the "Categories" section.) Yesterday's news doesn't have to be dull. You'll be reading about what Spanish speakers are talking about right now.
As a supplement to your learning, SNB will help you build up your Spanish vocabulary at a steady rate of several words per day (we update three or four times every week). Whether you're learning Spanish at the A2, B1, B2 or C1 levels of the European Framework, (??), whether you're preparing for examinations in Spanish, or whether you're a general learner - Spanish NewsBites is the right thing for you.
