I started using Spanish Newsbites with my Spanish language students late last year and feel that it is one of the best resources on the internet. We really looked forward to the post every week and we reviewed it as a class. We would generally read the intro in English together as a group, and then divide into groups to read through a printed out copy of the story, breaking down the vocabulary and the paragraphs trying to get the main ideas. Then, we would listen to the reading together as a group and further discuss what we understood. At the very end we would guess at the translations before looking at them to see if we were able to solve for the vocabulary in context. (Keven Barker, Phoenix, Arizona)

I just discovered SNB through a message you posted on how-to-learn-any-language.com and I felt compelled to let you know that your site is by far the most helpful I've found yet as a new student of Spanish!... As I'm sure you're aware, it's really difficult for those of us learning a new language to find material in the sweet spot between too elementary and too difficult. Your approach of selecting actual stories with translations of the less common words provides me just enough help to get through the text while keeping it interesting and the fact that you grade them by level makes it easy to go right to the content appropriate for my level... I am going to go back to the beginning and work through every story and I will also tell my friends about your wonderful resource. Thank you very much for helping me to learn this beautiful language. The audio, the written and the follow up quizzes are fantastic for all learning levels in my classroom! My students work in a centers based environment every day and one of the centers is to go to your site and select an article of their liking - read it, listen to it and respond to the questions. I also take some of the articles and use them for a dictation exercise. The up to datedness of your site makes it attractive to students unlike the textbooks which grow so old to them so fast.
